Content warnings: imagery of and discussion about infants born with birth defects, non-consensual medical examination, and gory images with fake blood taken from the film.

Suburban Gothic

“Suburban Gothic” is a subgenre of Gothic fiction, and this zine specifically focuses on films which explore the anxieties surrounding budding suburban communities from the 1940s and 1950s onwards.

Content warnings: discussions of racism, sexism/misogyny, suicide, and sexual assault.

A stark suburban landscape.

Southern Gothic

A zine that explores the historical context of the antebellum South as “other” and its otherization through examples such as Edgar Allan Poe’s writing and Northern versus Southern ideologies. The zine also explores the otherization of POC, women, and disabled folk throughout the antebellum South.

Content warnings: discussions of racism, slavery, misogyny, and ableism.
